Going back to the live-in kitchen diner, there was a lovely kitchen with an island. So much space to store, yet so much stuff to store as well. What we were going to achieve here in the kitchen is grouping items, easier access to the items, user-friendly flow, and efficient positioning (just like toilet rolls should be stored in the loo and utensils should be near the hobs).
This first cupboard was a bit grouped with 'tea and coffee' and food stocks. Mr DM's protein drink was also here.
This cupboard is now for food stocks and things to do with Mr DM. He can see the lots of bottles of booze and his protein, so he will have to make a difficult choice!
For the food stocks. I managed to use some reusable shopping bags. They are strong, flexible and big, perfect for storing those items. I folded them to a good height for the cupboard, Mrs DM can buy some boxes to replace them if she wants to in the future.
Moving onto the second cupboard, it was not messy, but more space could be created!
I moved green boxes which were used in other areas and brought them here.
The first cupboard was too deep for these boxes to maximise their potential, lots of 'dead space' would have been created, but this second cupboard was a good depth for them. We even managed to create room for a breadmaker, instead of taking space on the worktop!
The third cupboard is now used for some of the items from the first cupboard. All bottles of alcohol were removed from this third cupboard, then replaced by tea and coffee.
The reason for the decision is we needed extra space for Mr DM's bottles as we discovered more bottles from the cupboard under the stairs.
Everyday tea and coffee selection are now on the worktop, but a wider variety of tea and coffee can be found in the third cupboard.
