I love to cook, but not when I was working full time. I couldn't wait until the water is boiled for pasta.
Having a practical kitchen is the key to time-saving cooking, I categorised all the kitchen items into three groups.
1. Starting Lineups
No action is needed, just grab the items from where you are cooking.
2. Bench Players
At least one action is required such as opening the drawers to grab the items. You might even need to pivot your foot to the drawers or cupboards.
3. The Last Resorts
You will need to walk a few steps to get the items
1. My starting lineups are all on the worktop
Knives, wooden spoons, ladles, sugar, salt and oil
2. My bench players are in the drawers and cupboards.
Peelers, cheese graters, pizza cutters, blenders, pots and pans
3. The last resorts (junks) are in the corner cabinets or cupboard away from the centre of the kitchen.
Extra big ladle, big tongs, spatulas, juicers and toastie machine
The key is to have most of your lineups on the worktop, you can still make your kitchen look neat by putting things in lovely looking jars or storage just like we see on Instagram. Opening drawers and cupboard takes half a second each time, and how many times do you think you open and close them from the moment you start cooking and the end of washing up?
Every second counts for your famly time.
